AMD Backs OpenCL, Microsoft DirectX 11
In order to develop its ATI graphics, AMD is backing both the OpenCL programming language and Microsoft's DirectX 11 APIs. The move means that AMD is looking for a way to differentiate its graphics from the Intel Larrabee initiative and Nvidia's CUDA programming language for its general-purpose GPUs. - Advanced Micro Devices is throwing its weight behind both the OpenCL
